Unique ID Web Design, LLC is now officially Atilus, LLC.

First a little background. Unique ID, now Atilus, was started in late 2005 by Harry Casimir and me while we were both working at a local marketing agency as web developers and attending FGCU as full time students.

The company started slowly two years ago as a side project. Harry and I were being asked to develop sites and implement online marketing for friends, family, and business associates. It was a great outlet for our passion – quality web development and Internet marketing and we were using our skills to positively impact local businesses. Through word-of-mouth the business started to grow rapidly. After a little more than a year, we couldn’t contain the work we had to make a decision - quit our day jobs or say good bye to our growing client base. So we took the plunge.

Since then not much has changed; word-of-mouth continues to be the biggest way we attract new clients. 2007 was an incredible year of growth; we exanded over 500% and diversified our client base. Atilus, now has clients established throughout the United States, from California to New York.

So it is because of this growth and because of our future plans that we have changed our name to Atilus. The announcement was first made in our feature in Florida-Weekly. Atilus tested well among all of you. We started slowly. I remember asking one of our oldest clients what they thought of the name Atilus:

For a child’s name? It’s terrible.

Joking aside we are very proud of the new name. We believe the new name will allow us to grow into new areas while at the same time allows us to pay homage to everyone that made this dream possible. Atilus is Harry’s grandfather’s name.

So what will be changing? Not much!

Atilus will continue to provide the same dedication to quality web development and Internet marketing the company was founded on. Atilus will continue to conduct business by the same ethics and produce the same quality work that Unique ID Web Design has become synonymous with. Atilus will continue to help your business set and reach your goals on the web comfortably and efficiently.

If you write in your blog consistently then you know the benefits that come attached. With fresh content, you can draw in unique visitors to your blog, as well as, keep the interest of your current blog readers and have them coming back for more. The benefits that come along with an attractive, active blog with fresh content will have to be addressed in a separate blog post because they are immense ranging from advertising revenue possibilities, affiliate marketing possibilities, sales if you are a merchant or service provider, and ,not to mention, the building of credibility and professionalism within your market, and the adoration and respect of your viewers.(The benefits are so vast that it warranted a run-on sentence.)

However, shall you decide to stop writing, for whatever reason be it illness, vacation, etc, you lose all of the aforementioned benefits. How can you avoid such losses? Be honest. Tell the truth, and just simply leave a blog post that you will be away for X number of days, weeks, etc.

It really is that simple, and yet so many bloggers fail to comply. I have been witness to many avid, talented bloggers go stale because they failed to notify their audience that they will be absent. Because when you finally decide to return, they may not be there waiting for you.

You have to think of your blog readers as fans. Because they are; they wouldn’t take the time out of their busy schedules to tune in if they didn’t enjoy what you displayed for them. So, with that said, are you not turned off when your favorite movie star or athlete disappears from the scene?(here’s to you fans of Jerry Seinfeld and Barry Sanders)

Some bloggers are lucky to have a very loyal fan base, but you cannot count on that nor expect that. Respect your blog readers and let them know if and when you decide to take a hiatus by simply placing one last blog of your situation and an expected return date. You don’t have to get too personal, but be courteous and provide some reason and don’t EVER let it be because you are “too busy”… even if it is true.

Here is an excerpt of that article:

Today’s Internet is still roughly where the automobile was during the era of Henry Ford’s Model T,” wrote Microsoft Corporation Chairman Bill Gates in 2000. “We’ve seen a lot of amazing things so far, but there is much more to come. We are only at the dawn of the Internet Age.”

And much more has come, said Zach Katkin… click here to read the full article.
