I spoke to an old friend of mine over the weekend to discuss what has been accomplished since we last spoke. It was a pleasantly nostalgic conversation that usually ends in some sort of friendly, competitive salutation, in which we become motivated even more based on the others level of success.

But more than an increased drive to better myself as a business man, is my new found thirst for building better relationships with my clients. I’ve always known, but I realized even more how important that friend’s relationship is to my business.

He not only offers insight, inspiration, and criticism, but he also holds the mirror up to enable me to see what he sees. That mirror shows me my faults, but more importantly shows me a confirmed sense of accomplishment.

He is my cheerleader. And that is what is missing from my relationship with my clients.

As a consultant, I am quick to point out problems and offer viable, cost effective solutions to help maximize ROI in advertising employments, but perhaps I could begin throwing in a cheer or two.

During a great meditative session last night, I was able to completely let myself be taken over. I opened my heart and shut off my mind. This enabled me to listen intensively, without hesitation, doubt or self hindrance.

As I reflected, I thought a lot about Atilus’ recent level of success and how easy it will be for us to sustain this and continue to move towards greater and greater goals with larger and larger accomplishments. But we must remain solid as a unit. Any deviation from positive progression of thoughts, words and actions can derail this.

With that said, I would also like to take a moment to thank every team member for being a part of this working miracle that has become Atilus. We all play an intricate role in this machine and all parts are certainly firing on all cylinders. Zach, our CEO, offers brilliant innovation, leadership and creative deliverance, Harry, our COO, is a very caring, attentive and strategic project manager that is always refining our process to ensure intuitive success, while Jermaine is the best project facilitator I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, as he stops at nothing to ensure all clients are well taken care of at the expense of his very sanity. ;) And certainly, our driving force is the design, development and marketing teams that continue to produce the highest quality work for our clients.

And this post wouldn’t be even a figment of imagination if it wasn’t for our clients. We have been truly graced with excellent clients and we will continue to work diligently towards their success, as well. Our success depends on our clients success. We are what they make us.

In conclusion, Atilus’ is an excellent team and I am honored and blessed to have joined this team. Thank you and God speed to us all.

Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.

With the arrival of the next great internet boom – the internet marketing boom - the possibilities are limitless. The internet is exploding with new features and technologies such as interactive shopping, podcasting as well as newly emerging E-marketing tools and ideas. Among these new features are WiFi advertising (advertising to users of your WIFI network), and Internet capabilities on wireless phones such as 3G (AT&T’s network).

For those of you not in the industry, internet marketing is the buzz in the advertising and marketing world. With ever changing technology and improved techniques, and a now solid foundation of return, internet marketing is slowly coming to the forefront of marketing discussions.
And this internet revolution is even outpacing newer, less conventional forms of marketing and sales. Take for example traveling on any major airline. E-ticketing is available 24 hours a day and is convenient (whereas if you call the 800 or 888 number, you will be billed a transaction fee); you can print your ticket(s) 48 hours before the flight or 1 hour before the flight, at no additional cost attached.
I think that it is important that the advantages and disadvantages are carefully studied in contrast to traditional marketing. But that doesn’t mean the industry is without its evils. Issues that are still prevalent in and around internet marketing include: spam (which needs to be more heavily regulated), consumer loyalty (which needs to be studied more), and the different advertising strategies and performance that internet marketing has over traditional marketing.

However, one of the largest concerns of the general public is security and privacy on the internet. For example, if you read my previous post “Flirting with Diaster”, the attached You Tube video has a prime example of this: When Sarah Lacy asked the audience to begin asking their questions, an audience member stood up and said “What is the biggest obstacle that Facebook faces?” Zuckerberg replied “Building systems that allow users control of their applications/information.” The audience member replied, “Is it a security issue allowing users to control of their applications/information?” See how security is reiterated each time the audience member asks a different question? I have to say, it is a major concern of the general public, and must be addressed.

On the other hand, Internet marketing has truly revolutionized the marketing industry as a whole; traditional advertising and marketing firms better sit up and take notice and quickly adapt to the to the ever changing internet/technology as the general public consumes more media, does more searches, and spends more time online. Additionally one major advantage that internet marketing has that stands out ahead of traditional advertising is that with internet marketing you are able to customize and personalize your site from start to finish, making the process interactive between the internet marketing agency/firm and the client. And these custom solutions are growing the internet eco-system. For example, custom interactive shopping has revolutionized the way the general public shops, while improving the online shopping experience.

With that said, do you think internet marketing will revolutionize traditional marketing? You be the judge.

Ok, so you’ve heard us flash around this title “Client Representative” and you might have a few questions about this position.

Questions like:

  • Isn’t “Client Representative” just a fancy name for a Sales Rep?
  • What does a Client Representative really do?
  • What qualifications does a Client Representative need to have?
  • Can anyone be a Client Representative?
  • How did I end up with my current Client Representative?

Hopefully, after reading this post you will understand what your CR does and how you can utilize his/her services.

Isn’t “Client Representative” just a fancy name for a Sales Rep?

Well, I suppose it depends on what you define as a Sales Rep. If your definition is a person that handles a transaction for you one time or someone who comes back to you only when they want you to buy; then it most certainly is not. For the Client Representative (CR) selling is not the priority, no really it’s not. Instead your CR is your company’s personal web/marketing strategist. Which leads me to the next question…

What does a Client Representative really do?

As your personal web/marketing strategist, it is the CR’s responsibility to ensure that all of your goals for the Internet are met and in many cases, surpassed. During the planning phase, the CR is there it make certain that your project is properly planned out and that you are only receiving the services that you require. In the production phase, the CR will be in constant contact with you to handle all of your questions regarding your project and meet with you whenever appropriate. After your project is completed, the CR analyzes the project’s outcomes and compares them with your project’s goals. The CR is always thinking outside the box to find ways to meet your company’s needs and relieve your company’s problems. In the ever-changing online world you will be glad to know that our CRs are working hard to make sure your company is successful on the Net.

What qualifications does a Client Representative need to have?

Your success is vital to our success, and your CR is Unique ID’s connection from our company to you. Your CR is not just an outgoing person who has your best interests in mind. She/he has an understanding of our products and has experienced their effectiveness. Though they may not have as much technical knowledge as our programmers or as much artistic flare as our designers they do have overall experience in utilizing all of our services. They also have the uncanny ability to connect our services to your needs in an appropriately timed manner. Our company believes in ongoing education and we are constantly sharing ideas and testing theories to help make sure that your company succeeds.

Can anyone be a Client Representative?

I suppose you can be anything you put your mind to, however, our CRs are specially groomed for this position. They must be customer driven as opposed to sales driven. They must be able to strategize with you, our client, and have an overall feel for your mission, plans, troubles, and competition. And of course they must have knowledge of the Internet and a desire to learn about its ever-changing landscape. Although anyone could be a CR, our CRs are handpicked with you in mind.

How did I end up with my current Client Representative?

Well, currently CRs have been matched with you based on your location and size. In the future we will match clients to CRs who have the same interests as well. For example if you own a construction company and one of our CR’s has a construction background then they may be matched together, or if your company needs a large Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaign and another CR previously worked with PPC budgets then we may match them together. Right now our CRs’ skills have and will continue to meet and hopefully exceed your expectations.

I hope this gives you more insight on the level of commitment we give to each and every client. If you are not currently utilizing all of your Client Representative’s potential, why not call him/her today. They will truly love to help.
