5 Sources Where You Can Learn More About SEO and Digital Marketing

Author: Valerie Baker

Whether you are a professional already immersed in the digital world or a beginner trying to grasp the skills that are so popular today, we always have something new to learn when it comes to the internet.

You have probably typed SEO and digital marketing in Google and found tons of overwhelming information; thinking to yourself: “Where do I even begin?” “Should I trust this source?”

You should start by looking at the digital marketing companies that are popular today. Or any digital marketing company near you. Most of them will have blogs on how to understand and improve SEO and digital marketing. They are more credible as well since they specialize in these topics. If you are still not sure where to start at this point, here are some trusted sources where you can find a lot of helpful information.

Atilus Website:

As I mentioned before, most digital marketing or web design companies have blogs and newsletters that cover topics on digital marketing and SEO. For example, we recently posted a blog on why digital marketing fails. We also have a lot of articles about ADA compliance and how it can affect your business. Most of this information has been gathered and applied as the company’s exposure and experience increases throughout the years. You can be sure that this will be a reliable source.

Google Skillshop:

If you are talking about SEO and digital marketing you can’t fail to mention Google. As of 2018, 90% of the searches happened here, according to a study by Sparktoro. Therefore, if you want to learn more about your audience and what interests them, you should learn more about Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google My Business. Other topics discussed are how to manage YouTube and how to use the Google Ads Manager. Depending on which is your area of interest, you should be able to find plenty of information.

Hubspot:

A lot of companies have been relying on the HubSpot platform since it makes CRM easily manageable. While they do offer a lot of services that would help you manage your digital strategy, we will concentrate on the free course they provide. HubSpot has an online classroom where you can find lessons in almost everything related to SEO and digital marketing. You will find lessons on email marketing, content creation, social media management, etc. All these courses will give you a deeper understanding that will further your ability to market effectively to your customers. They also give you a certificate after the completion of certain courses that you can use to increase your credibility as a marketer.

Moz:

If you are interested in the basics of SEO or would like to get more technical information on how it works, Moz has it all. There is a beginner’s guide that will take you through the 7 steps to a successful SEO. It will touch on the key components like keyword search, crawling and indexing, and summarize more technical topics such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They offer workshops and training on the essentials of SEO and local SEO. Moz also publishes several blogs a month about industry-related topics that can be helpful in your search for credible information.

LinkedIn Learning:

Unlike the other sources I have mentioned, LinkedIn Learning charges a fee per course. You also have the option to enroll in a month to month or annual membership that will include access to more than 15,000 courses. While you can explore any topic of your interest, LinkedIn will also recommend courses based on what is popular across the industries, and it will recommend courses based on your profile. These are courses prepared by industry leaders, so it is definitively a good source if you are not on a tight budget.

There are other reliable sources on the internet and as you start getting yourself familiar with these topics, you will eventually create your go-to list of places to get the information you need. Even if you are already familiar with all these sources, they always update new content to stay relevant.
