Construction Marketing: Grow Your Reach & User Engagement

Author: Harry Casimir

New Year, healthier you. Every year individuals and businesses alike take the time to think about the new year that’s approaching and make resolutions that will set them or their business up for success. Those resolutions can be eating healthier, exercising, generating more profit, growing your team, or expanding your online reach. The list of resolutions can go on and on! But, before you start planning out your resolutions for 2017, I suggest you look back on 2016 and assess your accomplishments, successes, and setbacks.

As a digital marketing agency, we are constantly looking to the future for new trends/technologies that will help our clients’ businesses grow and reassessing what worked and didn’t work in terms of our digital marketing strategies. One thing is for certain, we know that digital engagement has been significantly important in 2016 and isn’t going anywhere in 2017. So, we’ve put together 4 New Years Resolutions that will help businesses in the construction industry expand their online reach and increase digital engagement in the new year.

Resolution #1: In 2017, add engaging content to your content strategy

In 2017, you’ll hear the phrase “content is king” more than ever! Your content strategy should easily connect with your consumers and capture them in the moment. Users want high-quality content that they can engage with, and if you don’t have this as a part of your construction marketing strategy now and in the future, you’ll loose out on a lot of potential business. If you want a successful construction marketing strategy in 2017, we’d recommend that you use personal tactics and you emphasize on the user experience – i.e. show your customers who you are so that they can fall in love with you and your service offering.

Remember, content creation is the key to a successful marketing strategy for 2017.

Resolution #2: In 2017, measure user engagement

Do you ever wonder how – or if – people are interacting with your content? There are so many tools at your disposal to track, monitor, and evaluate the success of a specific content strategy. For each published piece of digital content, you should aways monitor the engagement of that piece to see if it was truly successful. For instance, if you are running an ad campaign on Facebook, and your goal of that specific campaign was to draw users in to sign up for a specific event, how many users signed up? What is the value of each user that signed up?

You’ll never know the success of your content strategy unless you measure your user engagement. If your users are engaging with your content, then you know you are doing something right!

Resolution #3: In 2017, get creative with new technologies

Every construction firm should know that technology in the construction industry will never stop evolving. Well, this statement holds true to the digital marketing world too. Construction firms should unlock the opportunities of new digital technologies to increase their online reach and user engagement. Experimentation is key here, you’ll never know what works until you at least try it once. Sit down with your marketing agency representative and discuss the options that are available to you.

Resolution #4: In 2017, expand your digital marketing budget

The shift from traditional marketing to digital marketing is becoming more and more apparent. Digital has become a priority for many firms in the construction industry, simply because it’s easy to track your spend and your return. Take the plunge and invest more marketing dollars towards your digital strategy and reap the many benefits!

If you are interested in learning more about growing your engagement online, we’d be happy to sit down with you and discuss your options. Give us a ring today!
