E-Junkie Free Online Shopping Cart

In doing some research for some clients as well as friends I stumbled across an interesting platform on the web called, E-Junkie. E-Junkie is used by various websites throughout the Internet including some friends and partners of ours. It is a free (or nearly free depending on what package you go with) tool to implement payment processing on your website. It hooks into paypal and Authorize.NET, making setup a breeze and incredibly fast.

E-Junkie seems to be particularly powerful if you are selling an kind of intellectual property or digital mediums online. For example if you are selling WordPress Templates and Themes, Music Downloads, EBooks, etc. it makes setting this up (including control of what users can and can’t download from your store) incredibly simple. There is no programming on your part, you only provide the files and tweak the controls and only visitors who purchase specific products will be able to access and download. Additionally, client follow up, via email is all handled automatically so your customers receive confirmation, and download links and resources immediately after their purchase.

Finally, and perhaps most interesting, E-Junkie combines this shopping environment with a complete affiliate network, incentivizing all members to help spread the word about it’s vendors’ products. So for example if you use their cart to sell online you can select your product as a reseller or affiliate product and have E-Junkie’s entire audience help to market and sell your own products for a commission that you define during setup. I have seen many examples of online carts (paypal, yahoo, etc) and affiliate networks (CJ, clickbank, etc.) but E-Junkie is the first I’ve seen that combines these two together in a truly integrated network helping everyone benefit.

We will be implementing this on a few upcoming projects and I strongly encourage you to check it out!
