Build a professional and engaging custom content and user management system to connect mentors with teachers in an effort to increase the education and teaching abilities of new teachers and, consequently facilitate better student education..
After 4 months of planning, production, testing, implementation, and refinement Atilus and FGCU successfully launched the SERVS project. With this new system, an administrator is able to connect and track both mentors and teachers and monitor their progress. This system has truly revolutionized and made more efficient, the way FGCU (SERVS) tracks and manages teacher and mentor interactions.
All of us at Atilus are connected to the local University, FGCU in some way. Some of us are graduates, some current students, so we were particularly honored when we were asked to create a system for the new SERVS program on campus.
The SERVS Project is facilitating the better education, both of new teachers, and consequently, students. From the website:
The SERVS project, Support Encouragement & Resources Vital to Success was developed to deliver assistance to new teachers who are teaching in low performing schools and/or are teaching in a critical shortage subject area as defined by the State of Florida. These new teachers need knowledge, support and positive teaching experiences to help them develop into successful career teachers.
