For those of you reading that don’t know what network marketing is, it is a marketing strategy in which sales representatives of a company recruit other sales people and earn commissions on their own sales and on the sales made by their team. Some examples of these kinds of businesses are Avon, Mary Kay, and Tupperware.
What we wanted to know, being the internet marketing savvy people that we are, was if there were any really important things about Internet and Network Marketing that Ray Higdon thought YOU should know.

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in the last few years in network marketing?
The adoption of online marketing and social media as such valid tools for prospecting and marketing
How has marketing changed because of the internet?
It has given hope to those that thought all network marketing had to be done belly to belly or face to face and also proved that you can build a company without solely going after friends and family members.
Do you think having a business website is important and why?
I am a bigger fan of a network marketer having a personal branded website as it makes them more legitimate as an entrepreneur and allows them more methods of marketing to attract people to them.
How often should people update and manage their website?
We are big believers in creating content on your site. We have now written over 1600 blog posts and we suggest people create content consistently to continuously attract people to them.
What sources of internet marketing would you consider to be most valuable and why?
Video marketing has been a big asset for us as well as blogging. The ability to get in front of a lot of people live on Periscope (a live video streaming tool) is also very powerful.
Why do you think network/internet marketing is important?
It provides a low-risk, low-overhead way to generate additional revenue from home.
What are some tips for network marketing?
- Say Less to more people.
- Don’t be addicted to the outcome.
- Don’t seek acceptance or approval of friends or family members but at least invite them to check out what you are doing.
What web design resources do you prefer?
We outsource our design. Our blog is on WordPress.
What PPC services do you prefer?
We do a lot of PPC with different ad agencies, our most profitable is Facebook.
What is one piece of advice you would share with someone trying to get more business online?
Out teach their competition. (For example, blogs, newsletters, articles, etc. The more the merrier!)
What are some initial steps for someone with little marketing experience who is interested in network marketing?
Embrace that this is a long term business not get rich quick and get around people who are succeeding or have the lifestyle/track record that you desire.

Ray Higdon is a wonderful example of how anyone is able to expand their business online with the right tools and efforts. However, every business is unique and must be approached in that manner.
