It is both with elation, and a heavy heart, that I announce the release of our latest client site – and our first international project – Possible Dreams International. Elation, because we’re doing what we can, to assist, to use our specialized skills in a region of the world where it seems as if they have such little value, a heavy heart, because of what PDI is trying to accomplish and who they are helping in Swaziland.
What is Possible Dreams International?
Possible Dreams International is an amazing organization headed by Maithri Goonetilleke, headquartered in Australia, as well as many other countries throughout the world, but currently concentrating in Swaziland, Africa.
We have been working very closely with the PDI team for the better part of a year. Although we’re not on the ground, hopefully our efforts in web development, design and marketing, will help propel their own dreams and goals and connect PDI to a worldwide audience of those willing to help out online.
Although many other parts of Africa receive a lot of media attention, Swaziland is also a beautiful place, with warm people, but it is filled with some gut wrenching facts:
- World’s shortest life-expectancy rate
- Highest death rate in the world
- Swaziland has the highest HIV/AIDs rate in the world
- 1/3 of all children are Orphans
PDI is trying to remedy this providing support and assistance in the following areas:
- Long-Term Food Supplies & Social Support
- Providing Clean Water
- Building Homes for the Poors
- Free Education
A special thank you to Maithri and Julia DaRocha, who without their help, guidance, and collaboration this site would not have been possible.
